- Graduate and undergraduate research studies:
- Comparison of thermal properties of gravel ballast versus vegetated roof surfaces
- Green roof compatibility trials for various plant species
- Project supported with technical assistance and 50% cost matching for installation materials by Xero Flor America, LLC
- The Plant and Soil Science building green roof is the first at Michigan State University. MSU is evaluating green roofs as a sustainable tool for campus wide reduction of both energy use and stormwater runoff.
